Leadership Workshops & Speaking · Yuma, Arizona · On site or virtual Leadership workshops for healthcare teams that need to lead each other better.

A workshop puts a whole team in one room for half a day or a full day and works on the thing they have been avoiding. Communication, accountability, and the practical mechanics of leading people. Jillinda Freeman builds each session around the team in front of her rather than delivering a curriculum.

Two workshops

One for the organization, one for the people in it

Both are delivered by Jillinda and both are shaped around the room. What differs is who is sitting in it and what the day is trying to move.

For healthcare organizations

Synergy in Healthcare

Aligning staff and management for organizational excellence

Building trust, fostering engagement, and driving growth

Most healthcare teams do not have a communication problem. They have two groups with different information, different pressures, and no shared language for saying so. The day works on that directly, with management and staff in the same room rather than in separate sessions where each rehearses its own version.

  • Where trust between staff and management actually broke
  • Naming the pressures each group carries and cannot see
  • Accountability that survives a busy week
  • Agreements the team writes rather than receives

Best for a department or practice where the working relationship between leadership and staff has quietly degraded.

For individual professionals

The Great Awakening

Revolutionize your work life and reclaim your power

Ignite your passion, amplify your impact: a journey to professional fulfilment

A group session for professionals who have stopped recognising the working life they built. Run with other people in the room deliberately, because a lot of what makes this stick is discovering that competent, capable people in other organizations are sitting with the same question.

  • Naming what changed, and when it changed
  • Separating the role from the organization from the field
  • What you are actually good at, said out loud
  • A first move you commit to in the room

Best for professionals wanting the group format. One-on-one work on the same questions is life and career coaching.

Plainly

Why most leadership training is forgotten by Friday

Almost everyone in a healthcare organization has sat through a leadership session that changed nothing.

Usually because the material arrived generic, addressed to no particular problem, and delivered by somebody who had never run the kind of operation in the room. People are polite about it and then go back to work.

Two things make the difference. The session has to be built around what is actually happening in that organization, which means a conversation before the day rather than a booking form. And the people in the room have to leave with something they wrote themselves, because nobody defends a rule they were handed.

Jillinda spent more than thirty years in healthcare, twenty-five of them in executive leadership, before she delivered any of this. She has been on the receiving end of the forgettable version too.

What changes

What a team actually leaves the room with

  1. 01

A shared vocabulary for the problem

Most team dysfunction is unnamed rather than unknown. Giving it a name that everyone uses is a surprising amount of the work.

  2. 02

    Practice, not principles

Teams rehearse the conversations they have been avoiding, in the room, with the person they would actually have them with.

  3. 03

    Agreements they wrote themselves

A short set of commitments in the team's own words. Nobody defends a rule that arrived from somewhere else.

  4. 04

Someone accountable for what happens next

A session that ends without an owner is an event. One that ends with a name attached to each agreement is a change.

Format

How a workshop gets delivered

Half day
A single focused topic with a team that already works well together. Enough time to practise, not enough to rebuild a relationship.
Full day
The standard format for Synergy in Healthcare, where management and staff need time in the same room to get past the first, careful version of the conversation.
A series
Several sessions across weeks where the material needs to land in stages, or where supervisors are building a skill rather than resolving a specific issue.
Delivered
On site across Yuma County, or virtually for teams split across locations
First step
Complimentary 30-minute clarity call to shape the workshop

Who runs the room

Jillinda Freeman, CLC, healthcare executive turned facilitator

More than thirty years in healthcare, including twenty-five in executive leadership, across multi-specialty ambulatory clinics, outpatient surgical centers, urgent care facilities, and assisted and retirement living facilities. She rose to Administrative Director and led the kinds of teams these sessions are built for.

She is also a Certified Life Coach, which is the part most facilitators are missing. A room of healthcare staff being asked to be candid about their managers needs somebody who can hold that conversation safely rather than simply start it.

Every session is delivered by Jillinda personally.

While she cares about work being successful, it is her love of making others around her successful that speaks to who she is. This is why her passion as a life coach is a perfect addition to her career skills.

Speaking

Jillinda Freeman, healthcare leadership speaker in Yuma

Jillinda speaks to business groups, healthcare teams, and community audiences. She brings more than thirty years in healthcare, twenty-five of them in executive leadership, and a personal story that started a long way from the corner office.

The topic she returns to most is the gap between administration and the people doing the work: helping leaders understand the staff carrying out their decisions, and helping staff understand the pressures leadership carries.

Talks she gives

  1. Bridging administration and staff Why two groups with the same goal end up working around each other, and the structural fixes that close the gap.
  2. Rewriting your story From $19.80 in the bank to executive leadership. Change as a decision followed by a great many small ones, built one brick at a time.
  3. Leading when the stakes are real Decisions under pressure, teams under strain, and the part of healthcare leadership nobody trains you for.
  4. Reclaiming your working life For professionals who have outgrown the role they built. The talk version of The Great Awakening.

Answers

Questions about leadership workshops

01

How long is a workshop and how many people can attend?

Sessions run as half-day or full-day formats, and a longer series where the material warrants it. Group size affects how the day is structured, since discussion-led work behaves differently in a room of eight than in a room of forty.

02

Can a workshop be delivered on site?

Yes. On-site delivery across Yuma County is standard, and travel further afield is arranged by agreement. Virtual delivery is available where a team is split across locations, though the trust-building portions work better in a room.

03

What does a team take away from a session?

Practical tools rather than principles. Teams leave having practised the conversations they have been avoiding, with a shared vocabulary for problems that previously went unnamed and a small number of agreements they wrote themselves.

04

Is a workshop enough on its own?

For a specific skill gap, often yes. For structural problems such as first-year turnover or unclear ownership, a workshop treats a symptom. Jillinda will say so on the call rather than sell a session that will not hold.

05

Who should be in the room?

It depends on the objective. Some sessions work best with a whole department including front desk and clinical staff together, and others work best with supervisors alone, where people can be candid about managing.

06

Does Jillinda speak at events?

Yes. Jillinda speaks to business groups, healthcare teams, and community audiences. Recent appearances include the Building An Empire entrepreneur event near Yuma and a guest interview on What's Up Yuma? Radio on KAWC. The topic she returns to most is bridging the gap between administration and the people doing the work.

07

Do you tailor the material to our organization?

Yes. Both workshops are built around the team in the room after a conversation about what is actually happening. Generic leadership content delivered to a specific problem is the reason most training gets forgotten by the following week.
